October 7 Contest: Scramble!
SCRAMBLE TOURNAMENT (team game). In a scramble, all players in the group tee off, the best shot is selected, and all other players pick up their ball and move it to the ball with the best position (the team decides by consensus). Then all players hit the next shot from that spot (within one club length, no closer to the hole). This continues until the ball is holed, and one score is recorded for the team for that hole. In groups with fewer than 4 golfers, players should take turns hitting an additional shot so that there are 4 balls hit from each position. To be counted for prizes, turn in one scorecard for your group to the pro shop after your round with player names and the team's total score recorded. Points awarded for the most creative team names!
October 7 Dinner Special: It's Banquet Day!

2025 CONTEST SCHEDULE
t = team game, i = individual game
WEEKLY PRIZES include a $5 or $10 gift certificate for that week's winners, depending on the contest.
- Prize winners will be listed each week in the league prize binder on the console under the TV.
- Prize gift certificates will be emailed to the winners each week at the email address you provided at registration.
- Prize gift certificates can be redeemed for pro shop merchandise or food & beverage.
- All prize gift certificates expire at the end of the golf season.
CONTEST RULES are as follows, and the 2025 contest schedule is listed below.
- CLOSEST TO THE PIN (individual game). The object of the Closest to the Pin contest is to be the golfer that hits their tee shot closest to the hole. There will be a stake on the green where you can write down your name if you get your tee shot closer to the hole than the golfers before you. If you do so, you'll move the stake to the spot where your ball stopped. The ball must land on the green from your tee shot in order to qualify.
- LONGEST DRIVE (individual game). The object of the Longest Drive contest is to be the golfer that hits the longest tee shot. There will be a stake on one hole where you can write down your name if your tee shot stops at a farther spot than the golfers before you. You can move the stake to the spot where your ball stopped. The ball must come to a stop on the fairway in order to qualify. Shots that land in the rough don't count for this contest.
- LONGEST PUTT (individual game). The object of the Longest Putt contest is to be the golfer that sinks their ball with the longest putt. You'll see a stake on the green where the contest is. If you sink a longer putt than the golfers before you, write your name on the stake and move the stake to the spot where you putted from. (If you're not sure if you've bested the previous putt, you can measure your spot vs. the previous one using club lengths.) Note: The putt must start on the green. A putt from the fringe is awesome! - but it does not count for the contest.
- LOW PUTTS (individual game). Record your score from only your putts for your 9 holes. Strokes from tee to green do not count. To be counted for prizes, turn in your scorecard with player names and total scores added up.
- ODDBALL (team game). Each team is given a colourful ball, taking turns using it at each hole and recording only the score of the player using the ball. The catch? If the oddball is lost, the team is eliminated! To be counted for prizes, turn in one scorecard for your group with player names and the teams total score added up.
- HONEST JANE (individual game). When you check in on a Tuesday with an Honest Jane contest, there will be a sheet at the pro shop desk where you can write down your prediction of your final score for your round. At the end of your round, return to the pro shop and write down your actual score. The golfer(s) who come closest to their prediction are the winners. This contest relies on each player's integrity and honesty - even when others aren't looking!
- LONE RANGER (team game). Players rotate as the "Lone Ranger" on each hole. On each hole, the Lone Ranger plays the hole solo. The other team members play the hole as a scramble. Those two scores are combined to create the team score. To be counted for prizes, turn in one scorecard for your group with player names and the team's total score added up.
- MYSTERY GOLF (team game). Mystery instructions will be placed near each green to determine whose score to use for that hole (examples: tallest, shortest, largest shoe size, first to tee off, etc.) To be counted for prizes, turn in one scorecard for your group with player names and the team's total score added up.
- TEE TO GREEN (individual game). Record your score for strokes from tee to green for 9 holes. Putts do not count. To be counted for prizes, turn in your scorecard with player names and total scores added up.
- SHAMBLE (individual game). Similar to a scramble, all players tee off, and the group selects the best tee shot by consensus. All players take their next shot from that spot, but from that point, you're on your own. Each golfer plays their own ball until it is holed out. To be counted for prizes, turn in your scorecard with player names and individual scores added up.
