HOW TO PREPARE FOR A MINI GOLF OR FOOTGOLF FIELD TRIP
- Dress for the weather. Sunscreen, bug spray, hat and water. (Or warm/weather-proof clothes if it's cool or rainy out.)
- Bring enough soccer balls for each player to have one if playing footgolf.
- Organize your players into small groups:
- For option 1 with fewer than about 20-30 players, and for option 2 or 3: Organize your players into small groups.
- For option 1 with more than about 20-30 players, first divide your players in half. Then organize each half into small groups. One half will play mini golf first, the other half will play footgolf first, and then they'll swap activities.
- HOW BIG SHOULD THE SMALL GROUPS BE? The ideal number is 4 players per group. While you can have bigger or smaller groups if needed, groups should not have fewer than 2 or more than 6 players.
- SHOTGUN START (optional): If you have more than 3 or 4 small groups for each activity, you can do what's called a shotgun start. A shotgun start is used to spread out the groups so they don't have to wait as long to get started on the first hole.
- Footgolf shotgun start: Holes 1, 8 and 9 are closest to the clubhouse, so we'll have one or two groups start on each of these holes. (The groups that start on 9 will play hole 9, then hole 1, 2, 3, and so on. The groups that start on 8 will play holes 8 and 9, then 1, 2, 3 and so on.) If you aren't familiar with the course layout, don't worry! One of our staff will be on hand to help you find your way around.
- Mini golf shotgun start: A shotgun start can also be used for mini golf, with groups starting on 1, 18, 17, 16 and so on.
